Украинският пародист и музикант Андрей Данилко, известен със сценичния псевдоним Верка Сердючка, смята да създаде собствена политическа партия и да стане депутат във Върховната Рада на Украйна.

Новината бе съобщена лично от бъдещия политически лидер. Предизборният блок на Верка Сердючка ще се нарича "Против всички", защото според него хората в Украйна "не разбират за кого да гласуват, уморени са от избори, консолидации и конфронтации, докато политиците се боричкат около трибуната". Сердючка, обяснява Данилко, също нищо не разбира, но може да се боричка не по-зле и да крещи във Върховната Рада не по-лошо. Ако вземат да й дават рушвети, тя ще ги приема, но ще изразходва парите в помощ на децата, подчерта певецът. Данилко се съмнява, че неговата героиня ще ходи на парламентарните заседания в сценичните си костюми. "Там и без това има достатъчно смешни персонажи и появата на Сердючка със звезда на главата едва ли ще удиви някого", добави той. Украинският пародист не се съмнява, че Сердючка може да влезе в редиците на украинските парламентаристи. Преди две години никой не можеше и да предположи, че тя ще пее на Евровизия и ще заеме второ място, припомня Данилко.

Gay.Ru is the most quoted gay-site in Russia

Gay.ru is rated number 1 as the most quoted site by Russian gay blogs. According to search engine Yandex, Gay.ru is rated number 25 in all Russian blogs. In the last 6 months it has moved up the ratings and it is now behind Radio ‘Exo Moskvi’. Gay.ru is more popular than well known sites such as ‘Sport-express’ and ‘Strana.ru’. The next closest gay page is rated number 282.

Gay.ru is also rated number 1 by Russian gay pages with an extremely high quote rate.

This year we celebrated our 10th anniversary. In 1997 we were named the most informative gay page in Russia by ‘Planet Internet’ magazine. In 1998 we featured among the best internet projects by the same magazine. In 2000 Gay.ru was included in the list of best projects with sexual content and the same year we received the award for Best Website We have also been named in ratings done by KommersantMoney (2000), Afisha (2000,2001,2004), Om (2004) and others.

Gay.ru has been a member of IGLA-Europe since 2001, IGLIO (youth gay and lesbian organization) since 2003 and a member of International Forum HKO working on preventing AIDS in Russia since 2003.

Vladimir Putin

When a bare-chested Vladimir Putin appeared in tabloids around the world last week, few could have predicted the stir the Russian president would make. From fitness gurus to Russia’s gay community, everyone weighed in on the photos—even a few Brokeback Mountain inspired photo captions made it to print.

An unlikely international sex symbol in just a week’s time, the Daily Mail is reporting that Putin has suddenly become the inspiration for men to start pumping iron, thanks to a headline in the Russian mass-market newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The paper published a photo of the bare-chested president with the headline, "Be Like Putin". Alongside the picture, an illustrated a guide to the exercises needed to get a physique like the Russian leader.

According to the Daily Mail, the Websites was bombarded with messages from women declaring their love for Putin.

But the commentary wasn’t strictly limited to women. According to the Guardian Unlimited, gay chatrooms and blogs were particularly interested in the photos, with some commenting that by stripping to the waist, Putin was actually calling for increased tolerance in the gay community.

In Russia, gays and lesbians are still, for the most part, forced to remain closeted.

In one satirical photo, the 54-year-old leader is shown riding his horse in the Siberian mountain range. The photo has been likened to Brokeback Mountain with headlines encouraging Putin’s increased support of the gay community.
